Terrain: The course is a mix of flat stretches and challenging hills, particularly in the Newton Hills section around the halfway mark.
Start: The race begins on Main Street in Hopkinton.
Key Towns: The route travels through several towns including Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, Brookline, and finally Boston.
Public Transportation: Spectators can access certain points along the course using the MBTA Green Line D branch reaching close to the 17-mile mark, and again on the B branch near Boston College around the 21.5-mile mark.
Finish: The triumphant finish line awaits runners on Boylston Street near the Boston Public Library.
